Jimbaran Hilights

An outdoor dining area at dusk with tables illuminated by lanterns, surrounded by umbrellas and featuring parasols, with a hilly landscape and a colorful sky with clouds in the background.

A strip of golden sand with calm, gentle waters perfect for families—and stand-up paddleboarding—Jimbaran Bay is a popular beach renowned for its beauty. Besides the charms of the ocean, Jimbaran offers stunning Balinese sunsets and a wealth of restaurants serving Indonesia’s signature dish: grilled fish (ikan bakar)

A variety of Indonesian seafood dishes on a wooden table, including grilled fish, prawns, crab, grilled fish with spices, and sides like vegetables, crackers, and condiments, all served on banana leaves and with small bowls of sauces.

At Jimbaran Bay Seafood, guests are welcomed by a dazzling showcase of the ocean's finest treasures. The restaurant boasts an exceptional selection of freshly caught seafood, artfully displayed in a vibrant market-style setting where diners can personally handpick their favorites. From the delicate flavors of red and white snapper to the bold taste of barakuda and king fish, the variety is as expansive as it is exquisite.

Perched on the Edge of Paradise: Rock Bar, Bali

Carved dramatically into the limestone cliffs of Jimbaran’s rugged coastline, Rock Bar Bali isn’t just a destination—it’s a spectacle. Suspended 14 meters above the crashing surf, this open-air haven at AYANA Resort offers an intoxicating blend of natural splendor and sophisticated design. Guests arrive via a cliffside funicular, descending into a world where time slows and sunsets steal the show.

The bar’s sleek, minimalist architecture allows the Indian Ocean to take center stage, while ambient beats curated by world-class DJs pulse gently into the twilight. Sip on signature cocktails—like the fiery Rock My World or the refreshing Spa on the Rock—as you watch the sky blush pink and gold over the horizon.

Whether you come for the curated mixology, the spellbinding views, or the sheer thrill of sipping a drink above the sea, Rock Bar is an experience that lingers long after the last wave crashes below. It’s not just one of Bali’s best bars—it’s one of the world’s most unforgettable.

Nusa Dua Hilights

Where Luxe Leisure Meets Ocean Thrills

Aerial view of a tropical resort with pools, surrounded by palm trees, near a sandy beach and the ocean.

Tucked away in Bali’s southern enclave, Nusa Dua offers a blissful blend of refined relaxation and high-energy adventure. Its two-mile stretch of flour-soft sand rolls out beneath the sun like a private invitation—serene yet powerful, kissed by the kind of waves that have surfers chasing the swell from every corner of the globe. Here, Bali’s surf culture meets polished sophistication, and the result is something unforgettable.

While Nusa Dua’s calm ambiance may appeal to a more mature crowd—thanks in part to world-class golf greens nearby—it’s just as beloved by families seeking the comfort of five-star resorts and private beachfronts. The Apurva Kempinskisteals the spotlight with its sweeping coastal frontage, offering everything from complimentary kayaks to Bali’s first underwater dining experience at Koral Restaurant, where dining feels more like floating in a dream.

If you craving a burst of adrenaline, Tanjung Benoa—just 20 minutes up the coast—delivers a full throttle lineup of watersports. Whether it’s jet skiing, wakeboarding, sea walking, or parasailing above the turquoise expanse, there’s an aquatic thrill for every kind of explorer.

Nusa Dua isn’t just a destination. It’s a beautifully balanced escape—where serenity meets excitement, and indulgence finds its edge.

Uluwatu Hilights

Crowd gathering at a traditional Balinese Kecak dance performance outdoors near a cliffside at sunset.
A crowded beach with people swimming and relaxing, surrounded by green cliffs and lined with umbrellas and lounge chairs.

Perched high above the Indian Ocean, Uluwatu is where Bali trades lush jungle for limestone cliffs and bohemian beach towns for cinematic sunsets and cool, coastal sophistication. It’s a place where culture and hedonism collide—where the sacred echoes of ancient ritual meet the pulse of world-class beach clubs and golden-hour gatherings.

At the heart of it all lies the legendary Uluwatu Temple, a centuries-old sea temple teetering dramatically on the cliff's edge. Come just before dusk, when the Kecak Dance begins. Set against the backdrop of a blazing orange sky, this hypnotic fire and chant performance is pure theatrical magic—both spiritual and electrifying.

EL-KABRON BEACH CLUB

SAVAYA BEACH CLUB

WHITE ROCK BEACH CLUB

A coastal beach area at dusk with illuminated buildings and a large mural on the hillside that reads "White Rock Beach Club." The beach has turquoise water and white sand, with cliffs covered in green foliage behind. There are people on the beach and along the shoreline.

Afterward, the night is yours to indulge. El Kabron draws a stylish crowd with its infinity views and Mediterranean menu, best enjoyed with sangria in hand and the ocean melting into the horizon. For something more extravagant, Savaya(formerly Omnia) is the ultimate clifftop day club—a marvel of design and energy, where champagne flows to the rhythm of international DJs and the view alone is worth the price of admission.

For toes-in-the-sand luxury with a relaxed vibe, Sunday Beach Club is nestled in a hidden cove at the bottom of a private inclinator ride. It’s the kind of place where mornings begin with paddleboarding and end with bonfires on the beach. Meanwhile, Single Fin, the OG surf bar perched above Uluwatu’s legendary break, remains a rite of passage. Every Sunday, the terrace pulses with live music, cold Bintangs, and a laid-back crowd watching surfers carve through barrels below.

Don’t miss Padang Padang Beach, with its narrow rock entrance and postcard-worthy lagoon, or the lesser-known Nyang Nyang Beach, where a steep hike rewards you with near-empty stretches of wild, untouched sand.

Uluwatu isn’t just a destination—it’s a rhythm, a feeling, a cliffside dream where every moment is framed by sky and sea. From sunrise surf to sunset rituals and all the indulgent beauty between, this is Bali at its boldest and most breathtaking.

A scenic view of a beach with white sandy shore, turquoise waves, and a lush green hillside under a partly cloudy sky.

Tucked into the emerald hills of central Bali, Ubud is less a destination and more a state of mind—a lush, slow-moving sanctuary where creativity flows as freely as the jungle-fringed rivers that wind through it. Long regarded as the spiritual and cultural heart of the island, Ubud offers a heady blend of ancient tradition, artisanal charm, and mindful modernity.

Start your morning with a stroll through the Tegallalang Rice Terraces, a living canvas of terraced green that stretches across the horizon like a painting brought to life. Watch farmers tend to the fields just as their ancestors did, or stop at a hillside café for fresh coconut juice and the sound of cicadas as your soundtrack.

A bustling outdoor market with colorful umbrellas, selling various handmade crafts, textiles, and accessories, with shoppers browsing and vendors attending their stalls.

In town, Ubud pulses with artisanal energy. The Ubud Art Market is a treasure trove of handwoven baskets, silk scarves, intricate wood carvings, and locally crafted jewelry. Just across the street, the regal Ubud Palace offers a glimpse into royal Balinese architecture and hosts nightly dance performances that light up the evening with color and myth.

No visit is complete without a wander through the sacred sanctuary of the Sacred Monkey Forest, where moss-covered temples peek through banyan roots and long-tailed macaques roam free among centuries-old statues.

Wellness seekers will find no shortage of serenity—yoga pavilions tucked in the jungle, riverside spas, and raw-food cafés offer a modern take on holistic healing. Or dive deeper into stillness with a purification ritual at Tirta Empul, a sacred water temple that draws locals and pilgrims seeking renewal beneath its crystalline fountains.

UBUD HILIGHTS

For culinary adventurers, Ubud surprises at every turn. From traditional Balinese cooking classes in local compounds to elevated plant-based dining at award-winning spots like Locavore and Alchemy, the town has become one of Southeast Asia’s most quietly compelling food scenes.

Ubud is a place to explore, to unwind, and to reconnect—with nature, with creativity, and with yourself. It’s not about checking boxes, but about slowing down long enough to notice the beauty in every breath, every leaf, every lingering moment.
